I-LEAP is a 501c(3) nonprofit with the goal of promoting self-sufficiency for Northern New Mexico families— including freedom from substance abuse and emotional illness, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. I-LEAP provides programs that accessible, affordable, collaborative, and community-based.
Over the past 15 years, I-LEAP has refined an approach that empowers a woman to set her own goals and make her own choices about recovery. Services for women, children, and families have included counseling and therapy as well as practical assistance in obtaining resources such as food stamps, utility subsidies, housing assistance, childcare, temporary cash assistance, education and training, and job placement.
In recognition of its achievements, the New Mexico Department of Human Services Behavioral Health Division awarded I-LEAP a grant over four years to develop a new transitional living facility for women in recovery –Sangre de Cristo House.
